(STNG) — A former Roman Catholic priest convicted of molesting two teenage girls in Kane County was released on parole Wednesday. Mark Campobello, 43, left the Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, where he was imprisoned for more than three years, according to Derek Schnapp, a spokesman with the Illinois Department of Corrections. Campobello must register as a sex offender within five days. In 2004, Campobello pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl between January and May of 1999 while he lived at the rectory of St. Peter Church in Geneva. He also pleaded guilty to molesting a 15-year-old girl while she was a student at Aurora Central Catholic High School between November 1999 and March 2000 while he served as assistant principal at the school.
