March 10, 2008 -- A young man who lived at a Catholic high school without being either a student or employee also walked in the St. Patrick's Day Parade with the principal and band, participated in a graduation ceremony and once was listed as an exam proctor, The Post has learned.

"Everybody thought it was bizarre," said a former Cardinal Hayes HS staffer about Anthony Mills' presence at the Bronx school's events.

Anthony Mills
In Piermont, NY, yesterday.

Mills, now 25 and a basketball player at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Piermont, Rockland County, lived at Cardinal Hayes during the 2004-05 school year on the same floor as then-Principal Christopher Keogan, a member of the Christian Brothers religious order, sources said.

A former campus security guard said he recalled occasions when Mills and Keogan, 51, returned together to the school at 3 a.m. after a night out on the town, and remembered seeing Keogan sometimes throwing his keys down to Mills from the roof.

Mills and Keogan have refused to comment.

Keogan resigned as principal last month after inappropriate images were found on his work computer.

In 2004, Keogan "had [Mills] in a cap and gown walking down the aisle with our faculty at graduation [at St. Patrick's Cathedral] and we were just in shock," said an ex-staffer.

A document obtained by The Post lists Mills as one of two relief proctors at Cardinal Hayes during a testing day on March 12, 2005.
