	Teacher, 53, Faces Child-Porn Charge Arkansas Democrat-Gazette March 27, 2008 http://www.nwanews.com/adg/News/220965/ SPRINGDALE — A male teacher at a private church school was arrested Wednesday on a child-pornography charge. Richard Smith, 53, of 4077 Glenstone Terrace, Apt. A, faces a charge of distributing, possessing or viewing child pornography, according to a police news release. Police executed a search warrant at Smith's home, and he admitted downloading computer images of girls in sex acts, the release states. Smith was a fourth-grade teacher at Salem Lutheran School, 1800 W. Emma Ave., police said. He was fired Wednesday, according to a news release from Jeff Bladdick, Salem Lutheran Church president. The school has a zero-tolerance policy regarding any form of sexual misconduct or abuse, the release said. "We are not aware of any incident involving our students, and we are cooperating fully with authorities on any investigation," the release said. Smith was being held in the Washington County jail pending a bond determination.
