A defrocked priest who once served as spiritual advisor to Mother Teresa was indicted by a grand jury last week on charges he molested two brothers from the Phoenix area between 1988 and 2002.

Donald McGuire, 77, is charged with three counts of child molestation, one count of furnishing obscene or harmful items to minors and once count of indecent exposure.

Donald McGuire was arrested in suburban Chicago on Tuesday. He was hospitalized there after claiming he was experiencing chest pains, and is under the supervision of the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

McGuire, 77, is charged with three counts of child molestation, one count of furnishing obscene or harmful items to minors and once count of indecent exposure.

He has already been convicted of child molestation in Chicago, a charge he is appealing, and he faces federal charges for allegedly traveling to Switzerland and Austria to have sex with minors there.

The latest charges come after a six-month investigation by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. The allegations came to light when the Phoenix-area victims learned of the priest's conviction in Chicago.

According to Jim Clark, the father of the victims, who are now in their 20s, he met McGuire while on a pilgrimage to Europe. McGuire asked Clark to arrange spiritual retreats in Phoenix and was a frequent guest in his home, where the molestations allegedly took place.
