Two sisters molested over a four-year period by a Hesperia church deacon are suing First Baptist Church, claiming the pastor knew about the molestations.

The Superior Court suit filed this week alleges pastor Wayne Stockstill knew deacon Roy Long began molesting the girls when they were 6 years old and did nothing. Long is also named in the suit.

The girls were molested from 1996 to 2000, but they didn't tell their mother about the abuse until they were 17 and living in New Mexico.

Long, now 88, pleaded guilty in January to sexual intercourse with a minor and molesting children under 18. He got credit for time served, about three months, and was placed on four years' probation.

Stockstill refused to comment on the lawsuit. The Megan's Law Web site identifies Long as a registered sex offender living in Victorville.
