A pastor who preached in Nashua, N.H., is charged with carrying on a five-month sexual relationship with a 15-year-old Massachusetts boy, a Worcester newspaper reported Friday.

Worcester police arrested Tyrone Forbes, 49, of 84 Chatham St., Apt. 2, at 1:30 a.m. Thursday after he was found with the teen inside a pickup truck at a playing field, the Telegram and Gazette reported.

Forbes is a music teacher at a public elementary school in Worcester and is currently the pastor for a Nashua chapter of the Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, the newspaper reported.

He faces seven charges of statutory rape for acts with the boy that are alleged to have occurred in Worcester from Nov. 2 to March 31, the article said.

At his arraignment on Thursday, Worcester Assistant District Attorney Joseph Reilly said Forbes admitted to having a sexual relationship with the boy whom he had known for several years and mentored, the newspaper reported. The boy is not a student at the school where Forbes taught for at least three years, the newspaper reported.

Forbes' attorney, Jeffrey Newcombe, told the court that the bishop of the Worcester church had asked Forbes to serve as pastor for the Nashua chapter.

Newcombe and officials at the Worcester church could not be reached for comment on Friday, and no listing of a church under that name in Nashua could be found.
