Registra ogni soldo che passa per le sue mani. Da una parte le entrate, dall'altra le uscite. Data, importo, "causale". Rendiconti memorizzati su diversi file dei suoi cinque computer che sono stati sequestrati dalla Guardia di Finanza e dalla polizia municipale di Abano Terme: quattro portatili e un fisso. Ma non solo. Tra l'abitazione di Lovertino della sua compagna, la casa di Selvazzano dove don Sante Sguotti ha ancora la residenza ufficiale e la canonica della parrocchia di Monterosso, gli investigatori coordinati dal pubblico ministero Silvia Scamurra hanno sequestrato anche numerosi incartamenti e documentazioni bancarie. Il materiale, quello cartaceo e quello informatico, servira a far chiarezza sull'ipotesi accusatoria di appropriazione indebita della quale deve rispondere il prete-papa. Cinquantamila euro, tondi tondi, che il sacerdote sospeso a divinis si sarebbe intascato e che invece erano destinati a due precisi scopi: la sistemazione delle gradinate del campo da calcio parrocchiale e la ristrutturazione della chiesa, e in particolar modo dell'altare. Allo stato attuale l'unico indagato e don Sante ma non e escluso che la vicenda giudiziaria possa allargarsi. Soprattutto, gli investigatori dovranno chiarire la "natura" delle fatture presentate dal prete-papa per ottenere 20 mila euro dalla Regione Veneto e 30 mila euro dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo. Fatture emesse da due diverse imprese edili apparentemente inesistenti. Gia mercoledi pomeriggio, dopo aver ricevuto l'avviso di garanzia, don Sante ha pero sostenuto che e tutto in regola, che i ventimila euro della Regione sono stati effettivamente usati per le gradinate del campo da calcio e che i trentamila della Fondazione sono stati spesi per ristrutturare la chiesa. Anzi, il prete ha pure sottolineato che e lui ad avanzare soldi dalla parrocchia. L'inchiesta ha preso avvio un mese fa quando al comando della polizia municipale di Abano Terme e arrivato un esposto circostanziato e firmato. Gli agenti hanno compiuto le prime verifiche e poi, lo scorso 5 aprile, hanno avviato una dettagliata informativa in Procura. Il caso e finito sul tavolo del pubblico ministero Scamurra che dopo aver visionato la documentazione ha aperto un fascicolo iscrivendo don Sante Sguotti sul registro degli indagati e ordinando le tre perquisizioni con l'ipotesi accusatoria di appropriazione indebita. Se effettivamente quei finanziamenti non sono stati usati per i lavori dove sono finiti? Come li ha utilizzati il sacerdote che dall'ottobre scorso e sospeso a divinis? La risposta potrebbe essere trovata nei cinque computer e negli incartamenti sequestrati. Sempre che le cose siano andate come ipotizza la pubblica accusa e non come sostiene don Sante Sguotti che, appunto, ha immediatamente respinto ogni addebito. Se pero le ipotesi accusatorie trovassero conferme, finanzieri e agenti della municipale si ritroverebbero a dover seguire un altro spunto investigativo, quello delle fatture emesse dalle due imprese edili che avrebbero dichiarato il falso. Sempre che le societa esistano. E se cosi fosse, a quale scopo? Per fare una "cortesia" al sacerdote? Oppure in cambio di qualcosa? O, altrimenti, potrebbe essere stato lo stesso prete a "fabbricare" le fatture? Sono questi gli interrogativi ai quali finanzieri e agenti della polizia municipale di Abano Terme dovranno trovare una risposta per sostenere l'accusa. Io ho pagato i lavori, ha sottolineato lo stesso don Sante. The paper and computer data will serve to clarify if there is any ground for the allegation of emblezzement committed by the priest-father. Fifty thousand euros, in round figures, that the priest suspended "a divinis" allegedly put in his pockets and that were instead destined to two precise ends: the repair of the stair steps of the parish soccer field and the restructuring of the church, especially its altar. For the time being, the only person to be investigated is the Rev. Sante but it's not to be excluded it could be extended to other people. Above all the investigators must clarify the "nature" of those invoices the priest-father used to get 20 thousand euros from the Veneto Region and 30 thousand euros from the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo. Those invoices were issued apparently by two non-existent construction firms. However, since last Wednesday afternoon, after he received the notice he was being investigated, the Rev. Sante has declared that everything was made respecting the rules, the 20 thousand euros were effectively used to repair the stair steps of the soccer field and the 30 thousand euros given by the banks were used to restructure the church. On the contrary, the priest underlined, he is the one the parish owes some money. The investigation started a month ago when the municipal police at Abano Terme received a signed and very detailed denunciation. The agents made the first checks and then, on April 5, sent a very precise report to the Prosecutor's office. The case ended up on the table of the Public Prosecutor Scamurra, who after having read the documents opened a formal procedure whereby the Rev. Sante Sguotti's name was written down as a person to be investigated under the allegation of embezzlement and being the object of three search warrants. If the money wasn't used for the reasons it was given for, where is it now? How did the priest who was suspended "a divinis" last October use it? The answer could be found in the five computers and the documents which were seized. That's in the case the Prosecutor is right, contrarily to what the Rev. Sante Sguotti has been saying in his rejection of all the charges. If however some evidence could be found, the Finance police and the agents of the municipality would also follow another investigative lead, the one about the fake invoices issued by the two construction firms. That's in the case those firms do really exist. But if they were really found, what could it be the reason they issued those invoices? To do the priest a "favor"? Or in exchange for what ? Or could it be the same priest to have "fabricated" those invoices? These are the questions the Finance police and the municipal police agents at Abano Terme must answer to in order to support the charges. "I paid for those works" the same Rev. Sante has underlined.
