A workshop designed to help survivors of childhood abuse begin the spiritual healing process is coming back to Tulsa.

Mary's Hope Introductory Workshop "Spiritual Healing and Recovery from Childhood Abuse" is 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 8730 E. Skelly Drive.

Sherry Niermann and the Rev. Diane Moore are the presenters of the workshop.

Both are survivors of childhood abuse and started Mary's Hope after Niermann was approached by a woman who wanted her to make a video on the subject.

The workshop is intended for mental-health providers, pastoral care workers, victim service personnel and survivors of physical, sexual, emotional and psychological abuse and their friends and family.

The workshop is cosponsored by the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Catholic Diocese of Tulsa.

Seven hours of continuing education units (CEUs) are offered through the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers and the University of Tulsa.

The workshop costs $50 and prepaid registration is required.

Limited scholarships are available by calling Monsignor

Patrick Gaalaas at St. Bernard's Catholic Church at 299-9406.
