Pope Benedict may address the clergy sex-abuse crisis this evening when he speaks to U.S. bishops at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.

Terry McKiernan heads a group, bishopaccountability.org, that names 19 current or former bishops who have been accused of molesting children. He says Benedict should be "calling them in on the carpet" and demanding how they could treat "the children in their charge this way."

McKiernan's organization and SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, say some steps have been taken, but much more needs to be done to protect children from pedophile clergy.
