	Norwich Pastor's Appeal on Sexual Assault Charge Denied Newsday April 18, 2008 http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/connecticut/ny-bc-ct--pastorconvicted0418apr18,0,7274678.story HARTFORD, Conn. - The state Appellate Court has upheld the sexual assault conviction of a former Norwich pastor who was convicted last year of molesting a young girl. Fifty-four-year-old Charles L. Johnson Jr. is serving a 10-year prison sentence for first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Johnson was the pastor of the Norwich Assembly of God for 22 years before he was forced to resign in 2002 amid allegations that he had touched women inappropriately. Three years later, police charged him with grabbing and groping a 9- or 10-year-old girl twice during social gatherings at his house in 2000 or 2001.
