	Valley Survivors of Priest Abuse Protest Molester-Led Retreats By Colton Shone KTAR May 16, 2008 http://ktar.com/?nid=6&sid=839084 Valley members of SNAP -- the Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests -- are outraged that a convicted child molester in Texas will lead summer retreats in Texas and Minnesota for the Episcopalian Church. They gathered in front of an Episcopalian Center in Scottsdale Thursday, handing out flyers warning about the religious retreats and urging church head Katharine Schori to warn families about the retreats. The church has said the retreats are for adults only. SNAP member Russ Marley said, "Our only purpose here as SNAP members is to let people know that we want to protect the children. There is nothing more we can do other than to make people aware of what this man has done." Schori has not reacted to the outrage about the situation, Marley said. "This effort isn't just here in Phoenix. It's been made in Minnesota and Texas. And so far, she's done nothing other than shut her eyes to it and go forward and say we should forgive. I can forgive, but I don't want him around children period." Marley says he was molested by a priest years ago and it has had a profound effect on him. "I cannot have healthy relationships. It's hard to go to work. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder." The Texas minister and child molester is to lead four retreats in Texas and Minnesota this summer.
