PHOENIX — After years of being held up in pre-trial appeals the case of a Phoenix priest is heading to trial Oct. 27.

Monsignor Dale Fushek is charged with indecent exposure, assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The claims date back more than 20 years and came to light in a 2004 civil suit.

Fushek was placed on administrative leave and banned by the Catholic Church from participating in public ministry.

He now preaches from the pulpit at the praise and worship center, a church started by supporters of Fushek.

Fushek faces up to six months in jail on each of the seven counts and he may have to register as a sex offender.
