LINCOLN, Neb. — A 28-year-old former Lincoln Public Schools employee and church choir director has been sentenced to 15 to 20 years in prison for first-degree sexual assault of a child.

Benjamin Truksa also was sentenced to five years Thursday on a child abuse conviction.

Truksa is accused of molesting several boys, some while working as choir director at Indian Hills Community Church. Police have said he began abusing 1 of the boys in 1996.

Truksa worked at the Lincoln church for four years and was fired in 2005 after pornography was found on his church computer.

He had previously worked at Irving Middle School as a piano accompanist.
