A 31-year-old pastor who used to preach out of an in-home church in Northeast Portland was arrested Tuesday and accused of sexually assaulting two girls between 1998 and 2000 when they attended his church called The Peach House, police said.

Maximo Ake-Be faces one count of first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy, four counts of second-degree sodomy and nine counts of first-degree sex abuse.

The investigation began when two female victims recently reported the abuse. They were about 8 and 12 years of age when the sexual assaults began, police said.

Ake-Be was arrested in Kelso, Wash. In 2006, he became the senior pastor of Iglesia De Dios in Kelso, Wash.

Investigators suspect there are additional victims from The Peach House church or Iglesia De Dios.

Anyone with information is asked to call Portland Det. Mace Winter at 503-823-0182 or Kelso Police Det. Damon Blain at 360-577-3412.
