OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A former Catholic priest convicted of exposing himself has begun serving his 120-day sentence.

A Douglas County official confirmed Friday, 63-year-old Daniel Herek in jail.

On Thursday, a judge denied Herek's request to serve his sentence under house arrest.

Herek was convicted of indecent exposure and lewd conduct in 2005.

A woman had reported that she saw Herek fondling himself in a mall parking lot.

Herek was defrocked after he was convicted of molesting a 14-year-old altar boy.

The former priest served 2 1/2 years of a 5-year sentence in prison. On Friday, he pleaded no contest to violating probation in the case.

Herek was sentenced for assaulting the boy and making a videotape.
