LOUISA, VA. - A former Roman Catholic priest convicted on federal charges of embezzling from two Louisa County churches is facing 13 state charges.

Rodney Rodis is scheduled to appear in Louisa Circuit Court on Monday to be arraigned the state charges. The 52-year-old is serving a 63-month term in federal prison in North Carolina

Rodis was convicted in federal court in October of mail fraud and money laundering. He also was ordered to repay about $600,000.

Many former parishioners from St. Jude and Immaculate Conception Catholic churches were unhappy with the federal sentence.

If convicted on all the state charges, Rodis faces up to 260 years.
