A defrocked priest who was charged last week with three counts of perjury is out on bond.

James Janssen, 84, left the Scott County Jail Thursday morning. The bond on the three charges was $5,000. He completed a 180-day sentence for contempt of court on Tuesday.

The attorney Janssen indicated he would hire to represent him, Michael McCarthy, could not be reached for comment.
