TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A priest has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing three Tucson teenagers.

Gary Edward Underwood apologized to his victims and asked for their forgiveness before he was sentenced Monday. The 53-year-old was also ordered to lifetime probation as a registered sex offender.

Underwood had pleaded guilty in May to six counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

The victims had testified that Underwood manipulated them, got them drunk, showed them pornography and molested them.

He had been indicted in 2006 and suspended from the priesthood. The Roman Catholic diocese of Tucson has said that Underwood will never again serve as a priest.
