THE arrest of a former All Saints’ College lay teacher yesterday in Queensland on indecent assault charges that date back 35-years is a separate matter to the investigations into paedophiles at St Stanislaus’ College.

All Saints’ Head of College, Peter Miller said yesterday the arrest of the 63-year-old man in Brisbane “is separate to what is happening at St Stanislaus’”.

The man from Russell Island who has not been identified is facing three counts of indecent assault and has been bailed to appear on Monday, November 17 at the Bathurst Court House.

“It appears to be something that’s come up during investigation of St Stanislaus’,” Mr Miller said. “There have been conversations and something at All Saints’ has been mentioned to police.”

Mr Miller who only took over as Head of College from Jenny Williams on July 1 was aware Ms Williams had discussed allegations against the lay teacher with police.

“Ms Williams gave assistance to police during their inquiries last year,” Mr Miller said.

“There has not been any contact between police and the school since I’ve been here.”

Mr Miller said with news breaking yesterday of the arrest of the former lay teacher All Saints’ had contacted Bathurst police offering to help in any way the college could.

All Saints’ College was an exclusive boys school 35 years ago, Mr Miller said. It was now co-educational with 550 students .
