RAW VISION - THE ARREST: Police swoop on former Catholic Brother

A fourth man has been charged over the alleged sexual abuse of students at two exclusive colleges.

The sexual abuse scandal which has rocked Bathurst is widening, after the publicity surrounding the arrest of the former chaplain of St Stanislaus, more victims came forward including one from a second school.

Police are now investigating the Anglican private school All Saints.

A 63-year-old former teacher has been charged with thtree counts of indecent assault for incidents occurring in 1973.

Another brother from St Stanislaus was also arrested today - the 66-year-old has been charged with 28 sexual offences.

Late today, former St Stanislaus Principal Peter Dwyer was charged with four offences after walking into Armidale police station.

Allegations include boys being assaulted during mass hypnotic prayer sessions.

Detective Superintendent Michael Goodwin said since allegations became public last week, a number of informants have come forward with further information.

“We are currently sifting through a significant amount of information and as a result we have broadened this investigation,” Detective Goodwin said.

“Inquiries are continuing and we cannot rule out further arrests.”

Three men will face court on the same day next month - Mr Dweyer will appear on September 15.
