The Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth has reported two more credible accusations of child sex abuse by the Rev. Francis A. Zimmerer.

Father Zimmerer was a Benedictine Order priest who served at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur from 1975 to 1981. He died in 1983.

Late last month, the diocese received what an investigation showed was a credible accusation that in 1978, Father Zimmerer sexually abused an 11-year-old boy who belonged to the Decatur church. The victim is now 42 and lives out of state, the diocese said.

On Monday, the diocese announced it had received two more credible accusations of sexual abuse of boys by Father Zimmerer during his time at the Decatur church.

The diocese has offered counseling to victims and encourages anyone who has suffered sexual abuse by a priest or another church worker to contact Victim Abuse Coordinator Judy Locke at 817-560-2452, ext. 201.
