BATAVIA, N.Y. - A former priest who claimed he was suspended for complaining about being sexually harassed by another male priest has settled his civil suit against the western New York's Episcopal Diocese.

Terms of Wednesday's settlement between Simon Howson and the diocese haven't been disclosed, but a lawyer for the diocese says there is no admission of wrongdoing.

Howson claimed the bishop retaliated against him with a suspension in 2004 after Howson complained about being harassed. A diocesan review committee charged him with mishandling church funds and in 2007, Howson's status as a priest was revoked.

The diocese says Howson has not been reinstated.

The former rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia is now a hospital chaplain near Fresno, Calif.
