A Neosho self-proclaimed pastor facing various charges of child sexual abuse, forgery and possession of child pornography will be back in court Monday for a number of hearings.

Randall “Danny” Russell, pastor of Acts II church in rural Neosho, is expected to be in Newton County Division II Associate Circuit Court Judge Greg Stremel’s courtroom Monday morning for a preliminary hearing on six Class D felony counts of possession of child pornography and two Class B felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. The latter two charges carry a penalty of five to 15 years in prison if a conviction is reached, while the Class D felony charges carry a penalty of up to five years in prison on each charge.

A pre-trial conference on a felony forgery charge is also slated for Monday morning in Judge Stremel’s courtroom, according to electronic court documents filed on Case.Net. And Russell will also have a pre-trial conference on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree child molestation later that morning, also before Judge Stremel.

Allegations of child sexual abuse first came to light after an April 29, raid by the Newton County Sheriff’s Department at the church, which is also the site of Russell’s business, Garages & More, and his home. Deputies seized a computer from the business and several photographs of a nude juvenile girl from the church office. According to a probable cause affidavit, the photos were dated Dec. 21, 2003.

Four women have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Russell.
