A St. Lawrence County man with a history of sexual abuse is in trouble again.

State Police in Gouverneur arrested Robert D. Storie, 59, of Gouverneur on five counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, three counts of sexual abuse in the third degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigation revealed Storie subjected two girls, ages 12 and 15, to sexual contact several times while attending Richville Baptist Chapel over the last two months, police said.

He would intimidate the children into hugging him, then he would surreptitiously fondle their breasts with one hand while pulling them close with the other, police said.

The incidents came to light when both girls told their parents. Investigator Brian Langtry says the investigation is continuing and "we are looking into the possibility of other victims."

Storie pleaded guilty to sexual abuse third degree in Gouverneur village court in 2003 and was sentenced to a year's probation, according to court records.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at 287-2115 or 287-2311.

Storie was arraigned in the town of Gouverneur court by Town justice John Riordan and was freed on $500 bail.
