NEW ORLEANS — Several members of St. Henry's Catholic Church are holding a vigil to keep the church open.

They plan to have two or three people sit in the uptown church for four-hour shifts.

The New Orleans Archdiocese ordered the church to close after Mass on Sunday as part of a reorganization plan.

Tonight parishioners from St. Henry's and Our Lady Of Good Counsel, which also closed Sunday, will meet with Peter Borre. He is the founder of the grassroots group The Council of Parishes, which is fighting to keep churches open in Boston. Borre has experience with both church sit-ins and court action to keep churches open.
