A priest's defamation lawsuit against a former school admissions director who accused him of inappropriate conduct toward her was incorrectly listed Tuesday in court records as settled, lawyers for both sides said.

Attorneys for the Rev. Timothy J. Fell and [Name 2 Redacted] said talks continue between the two sides. Baltimore County Circuit Court records indicate the case is "closed/inactive" because of a settlement approved on the record Tuesday.

Fell filed his nearly $1 million lawsuit against [Name 2 Redacted] in August 2007, claiming she knew her accusations were false. [Name 2 Redacted]'s allegations, which stopped short of sex between the two, led to Fell's removal from a position at Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville, where [Name 2 Redacted] also worked from 2002 until she was dismissed in 2006.

[Name 2 Redacted] filed a $2 million lawsuit against Fell, Mount de Sales and the Archdiocese of Baltimore in June 2007 in Baltimore City Circuit Court on charges including defamation, invasion of privacy, breach of fiduciary duty and negligent hiring. That case, moved to Baltimore County in December, remains open with the most recent filing occurring last month, according to court records.

Fell denies the allegations against him.
