STOCKTON – A local man filed a lawsuit today against Oliver O'Grady, saying the former priest molested him as a boy studying in the Diocese of Stockton, his attorneys announced in front of the San Joaquin County Superior Court.

Attorneys for the unnamed man said this is the first lawsuit stemming from O'Grady's alleged abuse that also seeks to hold accountable Cardinal Roger Mahoney of Los Angeles, who was bishop in Stockton at the time.

O'Grady was convicted of molesting two local boys and fled to his native Ireland after being released from prison. The unnamed man who filed the latest lawsuit was age 6 to 9 when O'Grady molested him, attorney John Manly said. He is now in his early 30s.
