A Wisconsin bishop has called for the destruction of all copies of a book in which a suspended priest details the proceedings of a secret Church tribunal. Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison explains that the book by Father Gerald Vosen, describing the priest's trial on sex-abuse charges, violates the solemn secrecy that governs such proceedings. "Baptized Catholics or those who have made a profession of faith who purchase Father Vosen's book are at risk of participating in this breach of the pontifical secret," the bishop warned. Bishop Morlino said that the purpose of this secrecy is to protect the rights of both the accused and the witnesses.
