Malone has appealed to the Vatican a church court decision that ruled sexual abuse accusations against former priest Thomas Lee were not proven. The church court, which has special expertise in the area of church law, acknowledged that Lee's actions, which took place in the early 1980s, were "imprudent." "I am stunned and disappointed at the outcome of this case and frustrated that the process has taken so long. It has undoubtedly been difficult for the families involved," said Malone in a news release.
