Kenneth Hasselbach, a former Catholic priest living in Hollywood arrested and indicted on charges of possession of child pornography

HOLLYWOOD - A former Catholic priest living in Hollywood was arrested and indicted Friday on charges of possession of child pornography. If convicted, Kenneth Hasselbach, 68, faces up to 10 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

FBI agents found out Hasselbach had been receiving child pornography through e-mails during an internet child pornography investigation, officials said.

When confronted with the allegations, Hasselbach told authorities that he possessed child pornography on a pair of personal computers and that he'd been chatting online with two boys, ages 14 and 15, about sexual matters, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Investigators who searched Hasselbach's computers found images of boys under the age of 18 engaging in sexual activity and posing nude, authorities said.

Formerly a priest in the Diocese of Rockville Centre in New York, Hasselbach was relieved of his pastoral duties in 1994 following allegations that he sexually abused a boy three decades ago, according to a Newsday report.

State records show Hasselbach moved to Florida soon after he was forced to retire.
