  CBI Submits Compact Tapes of Narco Test at CJM Court

Kochi, Feb 09: CBI on Monday produced before the Chief Judicial magistrate Court, Ernakulam the compact tapes of the three Narco analysis tests conducted on the three accused in the Sister Abhaya case.

The tapes were brought from the Forensic science laboratory, Bangalore by the CBI officials.

The investigating agency also sought permission from CJM, P D Soman, to transfer the contents of the tape into a CD in the presence of an independent witness and an expert.

Sister Abhaya's father, M Thomas, had filed a petition saying unedited versions of the tapes should be produced in the court after two different judges of the High Court gave different opinions about the CDs produced by the CBI.

The narco tests were conducted to Father Thomas Kottur, Father Jose Puthrikayil and Sister sephi, the first, second and third accused respecitively in the case.

The body of Abhaya, an inmate of the St Pius Convent at Kottayam, was found in the well of the convent in March 1992. The three were arrested in November last.
