The Silence to Hope (STH) project has received $75,000 from the Diocese of London to help male victims of sexual abuse

In 2007, the diocese began funding services for male survivors of sexual abuse through the project.

The initiative covers Essex, Kent, Lambton, Huron, Perth, Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, and Norfolk.

Tom Wilken is the STH co-ordinator and author of Rebuilding Your House of Self Respect: Men Recovering In Group From Childhood Sexual Abuse.

He has also written material for Health Canada and the National Clearinghouse on Family Violence.

STH works in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness, the National Clearinghouse on Family Violence, Family Services Thames Valley (London), and the United Way of London.

STH provides sexual abuse support groups for men at no cost to the participant.

It also acts as a referral service linking survivors to caregivers and professional help.

For more information, call Wilken at 519-676-7613, toll free at 1-877-676-7613, or e-mail Contact: silencetohope@hotmail.com
