“I try to bring discussion and awareness to the lives of those who don't know they are being lied to on a grand scale,” writes William, who owns Vikestreak channel at YouTube, where the film below, is hosted. We see Cardinal Roger Mahony in deposition repeating “I don't recall” with all the finesse of Alberto Gonzales, former U.S. Attorney, who had to retire in 2007 for perjury. Tonight I drifted to 1955 small town America, when Wednesday night was movie night. So we have embedded Deliver Us From Evil, Parts 1 through 11 here at L.A. City Buzz Examiner, for Wednesday movie night. Actually any night can be movie night depending on my whim, I love doing City Buzz.

For the un-indoctrinated producer of Deliver Us from Evil, Amy Berg would have won the Oscar for Best Documentary if it hadn’t been for Al Gore that year, and did win the Writers Guild documentary award for 2006. Berg was a CNN reporter who noticed a story brewing in the epidemic of pedophile priests in the Catholic Church. She set off on her own and produced this comprehensive and personal look at how the epidemic of pedophilia in the Catholic Church affected individuals and families in Central California, all victims of one Oliver O’Grady, just one of the five thousand Catholic predator priests identified so far as pedophiles. O’Grady terrorized children from Ireland to California, in the 1960s and Berg’s film displays the damage he left behind. Since the film came out in 2006, we have been discovering that as flagrant and prolific as O’Grady was, he is just one of five thousand predator priests , and his crimes are more the norm than the exception.

Watch Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles, who as Bishop of Fresno, dealt directly with the aiding and abetting of Oliver O’Grady, how the Cardinal evades the truth in Deliver Us From Evil below, and you will understand for a moment the rage that brews within most of the souls of survivors of sex abuse by priests, not because of the sex crimes, but because of the way we have been treated by the Church in the aftermath. For every moment of raw passion in this film, you can talk to any family among the hundreds of thousands reeling from the effects of Catholic priest pedophilia in their lives, and you will find the same level of emotion and catharsis. This documentary is brilliant and but the tip of the iceberg in terms of the truth being revealed on Catholic priests sexual predators.

Amy Berg, pictured here with 2006 Writers Guild Documentary award for Deliver Us From Evil. The documentary about the Church mishandling of its sex criminals reminds us that an exponential amount of information is still coming out revealing the depth and extent of sex crimes committed on children, teenagers, and adults in the Catholic Church. For some reason, possibly the vow of celibacy, the one religion attracted an inordinately large number of men with sex problems into the priesthood, then was clueless what to do with them.

The result was serial felonies committed on thousands of children in this country alone. Don’t let the church tell you different.
