INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Rockledge man was in the Brevard County Jail Sunday awaiting extradition to Indian River County in connection with the possible abuse of two youngsters at the Life for Youth Church Camp, 1416 82nd Ave., according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office was notified Saturday of the possible abuse and Indian River County Sheriff's Office detectives Joe Parrish and Steven Stoll were told a group from Faith Fellowship Church in Melbourne was at the camp for a weekend retreat.

Following an investigation, Parrish notified the Brevard County Sheriff's Office and deputies arrested Faith Fellowship Church counselor David Frank Martin, 40, of Rockledge, on charges of one count of sexual battery on a person 12 years or older but less than age 18 by a person in a position of family or custodial authority and one county of lewd or lascivious molestation.

The victims are ages 11 and 13, according to the report.

Staff from Life for Youth Ranch were not involved in the incident.

On Monday, paperwork will be filed to have Martin incarcerated in the indian River County Jail.

No further information was available. An investigation is continuing.
