Cheltenham United Methodist Church will host an Easter egg hunt for children 3 to 12 at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. A light lunch will be served. Children are asked to bring a basket or other container. Voice of the Faithful of Greater Bowie is sponsoring a prayer service to show support for survivors of sexual abuse. The group was founded in response to publicity in 2002 about the sexual abuse crisis in the Roman Catholic church. The Christian service is open to survivors of sexual abuse and supporters.

The theme is "Finding God after Betrayal" and will include speakers, survivor discussions, prayers, music and time for reflection. It is an opportunity for survivors to experience spirituality in a safe and welcoming environment. The free event will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the outdoor pavilion of the American Legion Hall, 9605 Old Laurel Bowie Rd., Bowie. 301-262-6517.

Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church will present award-winning songwriter Joe Jencks, who will sing and play guitar during a service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. John T. Glenn Dale United Methodist Church will host its final Lenten Soup and Devotion luncheon, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The luncheon will include homemade soup and dessert, singing, praying and devotions. This Sunday, Palm Sunday, a parade of the palms, starting at 10:10 a.m., will go from Perkins Chapel (8606 Springfield Rd.) to Glenn Dale United Methodist Church. A worship service and cantata, "Glory to the King," will follow at 10:30 a.m. Next Thursday, Holy Thursday, the church will host an Easter program, "Beyond the Cross," with Holy Communion and an agape meal of bread, fruit and cheese at 6:30 p.m. On Good Friday, April 10, the church will host a prayer vigil from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. April 12 on the Perkins Chapel lawn. An Easter worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m., and a children's egg hunt will be held in the church yard at noon. Springfield and Good Luck roads, Glenn Dale. Free. 301-262-2299.
