More details have emerged about the incident involving a Roman Catholic priest from Mason County, which led to the priest being arrested on sex charges. Father Johnson Pappusamy was arraigned Wednesday in Mason County District Court on a charge of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct. The misdemeanor is punishable by up to two years in jail. Prosecutor Paul Spaniola said he would not discuss details about the incident out of respect for the victim. But Defense Attorney Jeff Crampton has confirmed the alleged assault happened at the Ludington Meijer store on February 11th. He says his client does not know the alleged victim, who is 28-years-old, and Pappusamy told his lawyer there was no intentional inappropriate contact. Pappusamy will be in court again on April 22nd. Up until the investigation started, the 38-year-old Pappusamy was the pastor at Saint Jerome's Catholic Church in Scottville and at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer.
