Local Priest Arrested for Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

SALINAS, Calif- Thursday detectives of the Salinas Police Department arrested Father Antonio Cortes, age 41, the Pastor of Saint Mary of The Nativity Catholic Church in Salinas.

Cortes was arrested without incident for unlawful sexual behavior with a male juvenile and providing alcohol to a minor.

Detectives served a search warrant at the church rectory subsequent to the arrest.

Cortes was lodged at Monterey County Jail and the bail was set at $750,000.00.
