Video: Pastor Accused Of Beating Woman

Bloody Victim Seeks Help From Resident

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police said a woman claimed her boyfriend -- a pastor at a church in Kansas City, Kan. -- beat her and tossed her out of a car onto the street.

At about 5 a.m. on Thursday, a woman who wished to remain anonymous said she heard pounding on her door.

"I was really hesitant about opening the door," she said. "I had it locked, but it was still frightening."

The woman said the first thing she did was call the police.

"You don't know what to do, whether it's a set-up or what, but I could see she was truly injured," she said.

After the woman checked through her peephole and saw the bloody victim, she said she came out to help. The victim had collapsed in front of her door and left bloody fingerprints on the banister, the resident said. The woman said she didn't know if the victim was going to live.

"She was really bloody," she said. "Blood streaming down her face. I thought she'd been shot."

According to the resident, the victim explained what had happened and told the woman that she had been beaten all day and tossed out of a car onto the street in the 3300 block of 20th Terrace.

Police said the victim identified her assailant as Alfred White, the pastor of Community Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. Police said the victim also told police that White fathered a child with her.

Kansas City police arrested White on Friday. He was charged with domestic assault.

The victim is listed in serious condition at an area hospital.
