	Local Grand Jury Indicts NY Priest on Sex Charges By Patrick Tolbert KXXV April 20, 2009 http://www.kxxv.com/Global/story.asp?S=10214554 ROCKDALE - The Milam County grand jury has handed down an indictment of an 85-year-old priest from Staten Island New York. The grand jury indicted Father Stephen Mary Valenta on charges of sexual assault and prohibited sexual conduct. The indictment investigated by Rockdale Police stems from an incident in May of 2008 when Father Valenta came to Rockdale as a fill in priest at St. Joseph's Catholic Church while the local priest was out of state for training. The victim was an adult female relative of the suspect. Rockdale Police put the case together and the district attorney presented the evidence to the Milam County grand jury which handed down the indictment.
