Retired Seattle Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen's testimony in a lawsuit over child sex abuse by a priest in the 1970s has been delayed until Monday.

Hunthausen flew to Seattle from his home in Helena, Mont., to testify Thursday in King County Superior Court. But Seattle Archdiocese lawyer Michael Patterson said the archbishop was taking a nap when he was called to the stand. He's now scheduled to testify Monday.

Patterson blames a miscommunication among lawyers for what happened. Both sides expected Hunthausen to testify Thursday morning, but other witnesses took longer than expected.

Two men are seeking unspecified damages from the archdiocese for abuse by a former Spokane priest, Patrick O'Donnell. He was sent to Seattle for deviancy treatment after he molested boys while serving as a priest in Spokane.
