People voice their anger toward the Roman Catholic Church of Ireland over sex abuse.

Release of recent findings of an inquiry into the allegations of "endemic" torture and abuse at church-run institutes has sparked anger in Ireland.

In a 2,600-page report, the Irish commission has recently explained a systematic practice of torture and molestation at the country's labor and educational institutes run by the Catholic Church over a period spanning from 1930s to 1990s.

People across the nation have reacted to the report, expressing resentment over the cover-up and asking for those guilty to be named and incriminated.

According to the report, priests and nuns were actively involved in the administration of violent methods to about 30,000 thousand children admitted to the Irish network of industrial schools, orphanages and hostels.

The children, mostly from dysfunctional families, were raped, beaten, or molested otherwise, the report adds. The abused students, typically boys now in their fifties and sixties, also alleged that they were subjected to floggings if they objected to sexual advances of the priests.

The investigating panel also mentioned that Irish government inspectors failed to stop the relentless abuse reported at the time.

Upon the publication of the data on Thursday, Dublin's Cardinal Sean Brady expressed regret over the misdemeanors.

"I am profoundly sorry and deeply ashamed," he said.

An Irish government board has reportedly paid around 12,000 victims of the abuse around USD 90,000 provided that the sufferers give up their right to sue those involved in the maltreatments.

The Catholic Church has so far rejected the testimonies by thousands of the interviewees in the inquiry as 'allegations and lies.'
