Director of web site on abuse crisis speaks

FALMOUTH — Terry McKiernan, co-director of Bishop Accountability.Org, will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of Voice of the Faithful, 7 p.m. June 3 at Falmouth Senior Center, 300 Dillingham Ave.

BishopAccountability.Org was founded in 2003 by Catholic parents to collect and preserve for future generations all available information pertaining to the clergy sexual abuse crisis in the Roman Catholic Church.

This library gathers diocesan files, government reports and other information on the bishops' management of the crisis and their performance generally.

In addition to daily updating, the Web site is in the middle of an extensive document collection. This includes some major archdiocesan archives and also many documents relating to religious orders and treatment facilities. The site is also beginning a major project in the area of financial accountability.
