The words of Ardaghey parish priest Fr James Sweeney today in the wake of the publication of the report which has caused a national storm. A compenstation deal agreed between the State and the religious orders in 2002 is expected to dominate a special cabinet meeting later. Pressure has been mounting on the Government to re-visit the indemnity deal but yesterday the eighteen religious congregations said they will not renegotiate. Fr Sweeney says his thoughts are with the victims and added that the public do seem to realise that the majority of modern-day Church members were not involved with such abuse.
