WESTMINSTER - Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting two boys nearly a decade ago.

Westminster Police arrested 58-year-old James Gordon McLees on charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and sexual assault on a child pattern of abuse.

Police say it was not until very recently that the two brothers told investigators that McLees inappropriately touched them several occasions while he was a volunteer religion teacher at Tri-City Baptist Church.

According to police, none of the alleged incidents happened at the church.

Investigators say McLees left the church several years ago, but was active in church organizations and the Boy Scouts of America throughout the metro area over the last 10 years.

Police are asking that any other possible victims come forward and contact them at 303-658-4248.

He is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
