YOUNGSTOWN —

Two more sexual-abuse allegations have surfaced against Thomas Crum, former priest of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Canton. A statement was issued today by the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.

Last week, Crum, a native of Louisville and a graduate of Central High School and Walsh University, was removed from ministry by Bishop George V. Murry following credible allegations of an incident that occurred more than 30 years ago involving a student at Cardinal Mooney High School.

Crum was assigned to Our Lady of Peace in 2005. Prior to that, he served at St. Anthony Church in Canton from 1992 to 1994, followed by a leave of absence.

He currently is undergoing treatment at an undisclosed facility.

The latest information has been turned over to diocesan attorneys, who are reporting to civil authorities. Diocese officials are working with the affected families to extend outreach and reconciliation.

The diocese has asked that persons who were abused by any member of the Church to contact their local police department, and the diocesan victim assistance coordinator at (330) 744-8451.
