The police have charged internationally acclaimed pastor Paul Lewis who was arrested on Sunday for the alleged carnal abuse of a teenager.

Mr. Lewis was questioned Wednesday morning in the presence of his attorney Michael Erskine and later charged with carnal abuse and indecent assault.


He is to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

Pastor Lewis, who is in Jamaica on the invitation of a local church, is accused of carrying out the act at a Westmoreland hotel.

The Minister, who hails from Brooklyn, New York, reportedly took two girls, aged 14 and 15 to a hotel in Negril on the weekend.

While there, he reportedly made sexual advances on the 14-year-oldbut she refused and the then turned to the 15-year old who he had sexual intercourse with and then gave her money.

He was arrested Sunday night just minutes before he was scheduled to begin delivering his message at a crusade.
