  City Clergy in Court over Pornography

A city clergy man Thomas Kevin Manton was on Wednesday arraigned at Kibera Law courts and charged with being in possession of pornographic material with intent of publishing it.

Thomas Kevin Manton however pleaded not guilty to charges of obscene publication contrary to section 181 of the penal code.

It is alleged that on the 25th of February this year at Runda Estate in Nairobi for the purpose of public exhibition he produced one compact disc tending to corrupt morals.

The US preacher lost an application seeking to be released on cash bail and was remanded pending further investigations.

The case against him will be mentioned this Friday.

Manton was picked by detectives on Tuesday night and held him at the Kileleshwa police station before being taken to court Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, a man pleaded not guilty to charges of stealing over 164 million shillings property of Imperial Bank.Elias Mwororo Kamau who appeared before Nairobi chief magistrate allegedly between 27th August 2007 and April this year at the bank's Nairobi branch Nairobi .

He pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of 1 million shillings.
