"That was the last straw for me," said Barry Haynes. "I came in and the beating was in process. Tony was directing it over the phone. What I remember was about 140 whacks with a board." Haynes' wife, Connie Haynes, left the ministry in 1996 after becoming sickened by Alamo's polygamy and control over the group.
