Summerville, SC -A Harleyville pastor is accused of exposing himself to a young girl. Marion Kosier is a registered sex offender and turned himself in at the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and this is not the first time the pastor has been in trouble with the law

A man of the cloth now facing a charge of committing or attempting a lewd act on a child. The police report show 48-year-old Kosier walked into the victim's bedroom and exposed himself.

"He had been over at their house numerous times because he is their pastor during that time frame," said Lt. Tony Phinney of the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect lives at a home in Dorchester where we got no response at the house or by phone.

The alleged incident happened last year between April and September, Kay Phillips with the Dorchester Children's Center works with police on these cases. She says abuse at the hands of someone in a trusting role can leave a lasting impact on the victim.

"Sexual abuse for any child is a huge betrayal, it's devastating and it has long term consequences for a child," said Phillips.

Investigators say Kosier was busted on similar offenses in 1984 and 1995, criminal history church members apparently knew about.

"Members of the church have indicated to us that they knew about his past convictions from the 90's and they said he had been in church and told them about his past and they were surprised as anyone," said Lt. Phinney.

Jail officials confirm Kosier was on suicide watch after his arrest and the suspect is out on bond Tuesday night. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
