Turin newspaper La Stampa, published that “In the last weeks the Brazilian cardinal Claudio Hummes, prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, promoted a series of meetings to study the problem.

"For the priests in concubinage and especially for their children, the Vatican thinks of guaranteeing the social rights to the woman and to the children, a sort of civil contract that does not exclude inheritance. Also the surname of the priest – dad would be passed to the children".

Italian priest Antonio Mazzi, founder of the centers of voluntary work "Exodus", told La Stampa that "in his community they have received several of these people. He told Giorgio's sad case: "He committed suicide after that I tried to take care of him for five years". In Italy there are hundreds of children of "preteas" and of bishops, especially of foreign episcopals who reside or stay in Rome and the Vatican, the headquarters of Catholicism.
